Beachgoer Makes Shocking Discovery: Cocaine Valued at $1 Million Washes Ashore in Florida Post-Hurricane Debby
A significant amount of cocaine, valued at over $1 million, was discovered on a beach in the Florida Keys following the impact of Hurricane Debby on the Gulf Coast’s Big Bend area on Monday morning, according to officials.
According to the US Border Patrol, during the early morning, Debby, a Category 1 hurricane, brought ashore over two dozen packages of cocaine weighing 70 pounds each, as winds reached speeds of over 80 miles per hour.
Briggs recently posted pictures of the securely wrapped bricks of cocaine that displayed a distinct red triangular symbol.
According to him, the drugs are worth over $1 million on the street.
A beachgoer stumbled upon a surprising find – a stash of drugs concealed within a trash bag, hidden among seaweed, leaves, and other debris that had washed up on the beach. This unexpected discovery was documented through photos shared in response to Briggs’ post.

The individual reported the discovery to the authorities, who promptly confiscated the valuable packages with the assistance of the US Border Patrol.
Illegal substances like bricks of cocaine and other drugs are often found on southern Florida beaches and surrounding waters. Smugglers use these routes to traffic illegal substances from South America to the US.
In June, a beachgoer discovered an unexpected surprise while searching for sea turtle nests on a north Florida beach – a stash of cocaine bricks worth a staggering $4 million.
The surprising discovery took law enforcement officials aback, as it is uncommon for drugs to reach Nassau County, which is located further north than their usual landing spots.
Meanwhile, Debby, now downgraded to a tropical storm, is predicted to unleash heavy rain and cause flooding as it moves northward from Florida to Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
