According to authorities in Texas and news reports, a nanny was dragging a wagon carrying two toddlers across the street when a car that was going too fast struck them.

The woman was rushed to the hospital with what Gonzalez described as a “possible broken bone,” and the children were taken in critical condition. The driver was claimed to be at the scene of the accident.

Attempts by the nanny to push the wagon to safety were deemed by investigators to have reduced injuries, according to KHOU.

The severity of the kids’ injuries was not disclosed by officials, but KTRK reports that they are likely to live.

The driver may or may not face charges, according to Gonzalez.
