Authorities Identified the Man Who Died in Car Crash in Inyokern

The Kern County Coroner’s Office identified the man who died in a crash on December 20.

The accident happened on Highway 14 in Inyokern.

The man is identified as Darren Keith Westby. The 29-year-old man was a Las Vegas resident.

At around 8:20 p.m., Westby was reportedly operating a vehicle when he collided with another vehicle on Highway 14 in Inyokern.

California Highway Patrol officers were dispatched quickly after the reports of the crash. Officials pronounced Westby dead at the site of the accident.

Investigators from the CHP are looking into what caused the collision. The police have not disclosed the autopsy report.
