Armed Robbery Spree Convict Sentenced 27 Years in Federal Prison
Los Angeles, California: A man is sentenced to 27 years in federal prison after he went on a violent robbery spree in Southern California.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office stated that the man went on a crime spree just after being released from prison. The convicted man is Justin Washington, 34 of Gardena. Washington is already serving a lengthy prison sentence for murder.
Following his release from prison for a prior armed robbery conviction, Washington set out to terrorize the South Bay and South Los Angeles areas between November 30, 2020, and December 4, 2020. He committed multiple robberies, brandishing a gun, inflicting physical harm, and even coming dangerously close to killing a donut shop employee by trying to shoot the gun after pistol-whipping them.
The Department of Justice released a statement claiming that before his arrest, Washington had amassed $9,019 in cash and jewels from his reign of terror.
Percy Anderson, the United States District Judge, also ordered Washington to make restitution and a special assessment, totaling $10,119 in financial reparations.
