Armed Robber Shot Uber Driver Dead; Driver was Delivering Food to Apartment in Opa-Locka; Armed Suspect on Large: Authorities
A tragic incident occurred on Saturday at an Opa-Locka apartment complex, where an Uber delivery driver lost their life in an unfortunate armed robbery, according to the authorities.
Authorities discovered a male victim with gunshot wounds at the Mirage at Sailboat Cove apartment complex on NW 142nd Lane around 8 a.m., according to police reports. He was transported to the hospital and unfortunately passed away. The identity of the individual has not been disclosed by the police.
A man delivering food to a home was tragically confronted by an armed suspect, who proceeded to shoot him.
A thorough investigation led to the temporary closure of the complex, with law enforcement deploying a police chopper and tactical unit to meticulously search the area for the individual in question.
Miami-Dade Police Detective Angel Rodriguez has reported that an individual has been detained for further investigation into their potential involvement. According to detectives, the shooter is still at large and no suspect description is available at this time.

“It’s kind of crazy, but we have guarded gates, and Opa-Locka Police spend the night here every night, so I don’t know what the problem is,” Jordan said. “But to know someone got shot, it does make me feel kind of questionable about the move.”
