Armed and Dangerous Man abducted 16-year-old Girl in Oakland, Found safe after Amber Alert

Oakland, CA: According to the California Highway Patrol, a girl who was believed to have been kidnapped in Oakland was located early Wednesday morning.

Around 3:15 a.m., the CHP tweeted that they had found 16-year-old Luz Bonilla. Alameda, San Francisco, Contra Costa, San Mateo, and Santa Clara counties were the ones affected when the Amber Alert was suspended.

Jeffrey Gomez-Rivas, 22, the man suspected of kidnapping Bonilla, has not been publicly discussed recently. His status by the CHP was that of an “armed and dangerous” individual.

Police in Oakland did not say if they had found Gomez-Rivas or if they were still looking for him.

In the Amber Alert, the California Highway Patrol had stated that the individual in question abducted Bonilla on Tuesday while operating a black 2006 Chrysler 300 bearing the California license plate “9CCE352.”
