Alcohol Carrying Truck Jackknifed on I-81 in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania

Cumberland County, PA: A semi-truck overturned on Interstate 81 and caused major traffic disruptions. The truck was loaded with alcoholic drinks and was southbound on Interstate 81.

The incident happened at around 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday just before Exit 52 (Middlesex), resulting in the obstruction of the interstate

The Pennsylvania State Police said that the tractor-trailer was transporting around 43,000 pounds of different types of alcohol.

There are no recorded casualties after the incident. The traffic was redirected from Exit 57 (Mechanicsburg, Rt. 114 to Exit 52.

All lanes of I-81 southbound were fully operational again at approximately 6 p.m. The traffic is running smoothly as of now. The cause of the slip is not clear and the authorities are investigating the circumstances.
