Alabama Prison Security Guard Arrested for Smuggling Drugs into Prison
Montgomery, AL: The Alabama Department of Corrections has arrested one prison guard. The prison guard is identified as 45-year-old Tyree Lynette Hoyle.
Hoyle has been accused of distributing drugs in the prison by abusing her position for personal benefit. According to ADOC and court records, it has been confirmed that she has resigned from her position as a security guard at Kilby Correctional Facility.
In November, Hoyle was charged for allegedly conspiring with an inmate and another former guard to smuggle drugs into the Montgomery County prison.
According to court documents, the other guard allegedly provided her with marijuana, suboxone, and a cellphone to deliver to the inmate. According to the criminal complaints, the inmate allegedly provided her with $500 through Cash App.
Hoyle has been placed in the Montgomery County Detention Facility. The bail amount for each of the two charges is set at $15,000.
The corrections department has stated that the investigation is still in progress and there may be additional charges in the future.
