Alabama Grocery Store Selling Guns in Vending Machines using AI Identification

Gun ammunition is now available at two grocery stores in Alabama through the use of innovative “retail kiosks.” These kiosks utilize artificial intelligence technology to scan buyers’ identification cards and faces, ensuring a secure transaction before dispensing the desired bullets.

The machines at Fresh Value stores in Tuscaloosa and Pell City are using advanced facial recognition technology to streamline the process of purchasing firearm ammunition. These refrigerator-sized machines are designed to verify a customer’s age and ID, making it more convenient for individuals to obtain the ammunition they need.

“We are revolutionizing the way ammunition sales are conducted by increasing accessibility,” stated a representative from American Rounds in a promotional video. The video showcases the dispenser conveniently located next to a cooler of Bang Energy drinks at the Pell City store.

When utilizing the gadgets found within the stores, buyers can easily select their desired ammo by simply tapping the screen according to The Post.

Users are then asked to confirm their age by presenting a valid government-issued identification card. After scanning the customer’s face, the device prompts for payment and then dispenses the ammunition.

The company intends to establish vending machines in Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Texas by next year, according to a representative from American Rounds. The company is focusing on areas where hunting is popular, according to the spokesperson.

According to Tuscaloosa Police Chief Brent Blankley, the vending machines have been deemed legal and approved by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives. This information was reported by The Tuscaloosa Thread.
