Miamistandard– According to police, a guy from Florida was detained on Saturday in north Philadelphia. He was wanted by the New Castle County Police and the FBI for the rape of an 8-year-old boy at a YMCA pool in Brandywine Hundred in June.

Since late June, when detectives from the New Castle County Police named Nehemiah Garcia, 21, of Cape Coral, Florida, as a suspect in a rape case, the police and FBI agents have been hunting for him.

According to the county police, law authorities then began a “thorough search” of the East Coast in an effort to find him. On Saturday morning, he was located and taken into custody.

On June 13, Garcia allegedly led the youngster into the shower area of the YMCA Hanby Outdoor Center, according to the police and the FBI. According to the authorities, there is where he raped him.

On June 26, a Delaware Justice of the Peace magistrate issued an arrest warrant for two counts of first-degree rape and two counts of serious felony against a minor under 14, which is classified as criminal sexual conduct.

Approximately one month later, a federal arrest warrant was issued for unauthorized departure to evade prosecution.

Garcia is currently being imprisoned in Philadelphia while he waits to be sent to Delaware.
