A video of a Chihuahua being beaten to death has shocked the Peoria family

A Peoria family grieving the loss of a four-legged buddy is stunned after seeing their neighbor on camera beating their dog to death.

They are now looking for justice for the dog, who they claim was a crucial member of the family.

This family is not only grieved by the loss of their dog, but also furious that their neighbor has not been prosecuted, raising fears about the other pets and humans in the community.

“When we woke up this morning, you just felt the sadness,” Brianna Camacho said.

According to the family, Chiquilin, often known as Chiqui or Chicken Wing, managed to escape Friday afternoon.

The family then received a call from a neighbor, who stated that another neighbor was caught on camera hitting Chiqui with a shovel and hurling his body over a wall.

“She was like, ‘yeah, he just threw him over the fence’ and when we walked, I told him and I was still on the phone with her and we ran outside and the next thing you know is when we’re running over there, my dog’s just laying on the floor,” says Brianna.

Chiqui’s injuries were severe enough that the family had to say farewell Friday night.

“He protected us. Isaac Cuniga stated that whenever someone came, he was there to protect them and was also a very wonderful family member.

“Chiquilin was a good dog.” He was a very good dog. “He was the sweetest,” Brianna stated.

Their anguish swiftly turned to rage at the deeds that resulted in Chiqui’s death.

“People never even imagine that people have the heart to do that,” Brianna was saying. “But, yet again, we do not know how individuals are. We do not know who they are. “We don’t know what they are capable of.”

According to Peoria Police, the neighbor claimed self-defense and that Chiqui was after his pets, so he attempted to “swat the dog from behind” and Chiqui turned at the incorrect time.

Police say the dashcam evidence tells a different story.

The family is now concerned about the safety of their other dogs and their two-year-old son.

“It makes us wonder what happens if a child accidently throws a ball over or whatever. “If he did that to a dog, imagine what he would do to a kid.” said Isaac.

According to Peoria Police, charges for animal cruelty are still pending in this ongoing investigation.

They have not released the man’s name due to the ongoing investigation, and animal cruelty charges are still pending.

Officers did not receive the dashcam video until this evening.
