A mass shooting in California injured six individuals, but no arrests were made

A mass shooting in a Southern California neighborhood over the weekend injured six individuals, with all but one suffering from life-threatening injuries, according to officials.

According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office, just before 11 p.m. local time on June 21, deputies responded to the 12000 block of Orchid Lane in Moreno Valley to investigate a shooting.

The city is approximately 15 miles south of San Bernadino and 60 miles east of Los Angeles.

As of June 23, no arrests had been made in the case, no suspect had been identified, a sheriff’s office representative told USA TODAY, and no motive for the shooting had been publicly disclosed.

Deputies arrived to find a teen kid with several gunshot wounds near the corner of Hemlock Avenue, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.

Four more teen lads were also found at the scene with gunshot wounds.

“Deputies checked the area for the suspects responsible for the shooting; however, they were unable to locate them,” the sheriff’s office stated in the release.

Six people were hospitalized following the Moreno Valley shooting.

According to officials, first responders rushed the five teenagers to a hospital for treatment of potentially fatal injuries.

While the release process was underway, a sixth adolescent arrived, also suffering from injuries sustained during the shooting.

Officials reported that the six kids varied in age from 14 to 18.

Where did the mass shooting occur?

Officials have not disclosed any other information regarding the incident’s location, such as whether the shooting occurred inside or outside a home.

As of June 23, the sheriff’s spokeswoman indicated there were no fresh developments in the case.
