Eagle County, CO – On Tuesday, police discovered 111 pounds of cocaine stashed in a car heading down Interstate 70 during a traffic stop.
According to the Eagle County Sheriff’s Office, the incident began just before 10 a.m. when a detective from the Gore Range All Narcotics Interdiction Task Force stopped a vehicle on eastbound Interstate 70 near mile marker 140 for failing to stay in its lane.
The driver was issued a warning, but the sheriff’s office stated that he made statements that “raised suspicions for further criminal activity,” so a professional drugs detection canine was sent in to investigate the vehicle.
The K-9 indicated that drugs could be there, prompting a search in which 44 individually wrapped parcels were discovered stashed in the vehicle. The material in the parcels was presumptively positive for cocaine.
The sheriff’s office identified the driver as 34-year-old Scott Douglas Robinson of Ontario, Canada.

He was brought to the Eagle County Detention Facility, where he is being held on a $1,000,000 bond and charged with:
- Unlawful distribution of a controlled substance (cocaine) – Class 1 drug felony
