FedEx to Lay Off 217 Workers in Lebanon, Workers Distraught after Job Cut Announcement

Lebanon, TN – FedEx has announced plans to lay off more than 200 employees in the Nashville area as part of an operational change.

According to a WARN Notice filed with the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development, 217 workers at the company’s Lebanon facility will be permanently laid off between May 9 and May 30.

The company stated that the layoffs are due to FedEx Supply Chain ceasing service for a customer in Lebanon.

“We expect this building to cease operations with FedEx Supply Chain this spring,” a company spokesperson told FOX13. “Affected team members were notified in advance of any changes taking place, and we are actively working to transition positions to other facilities, as well as assisting with finding other employment opportunities within the company, including at other nearby FedEx facilities.”

FedEx has not disclosed whether additional layoffs will follow. The company says it is committed to supporting affected employees through job transition efforts.
