91-year-old Molested by 14-year-old Boy from Neighborhood in Florida; Teen Boy Arrested after Probe into Disturbing and Disgusting Act

A Reddick teenager has been arrested by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office after a thorough nine-day investigation. The authorities offered a cash reward to anyone who could provide information that would lead to the suspect’s arrest.
In the late hours of June 8, a 91-year-old woman was startled awake in her bed by the sight of a hunched figure making its way down the hallway towards her bedroom, as stated in an arrest affidavit.
During the altercation, she bravely defended herself against his violent attack, recounting the incident to deputies at the hospital. She started praying, desperately seeking divine assistance. However, her plea was abruptly silenced by his harsh command, leaving her no choice but to fall silent as reported by IdahoStatesman.
Deputies reported that he engaged in a distressing incident, involving the removal of her underwear and committing a sexual assault, before eventually departing. She was completely unaware of the identity of her assailant, and due to the dim lighting in her bedroom, she was unable to provide a thorough account.
During the interview at the hospital, investigators observed significant swelling and bruising on her face, along with traces of blood. During the investigation, authorities requested a detailed account of her day prior to the incident. She recalled that a local boy had come to visit her, and they spent time conversing on her porch, according to deputies.
Investigators have identified the 14-year-old boy as the individual who later allegedly attacked her. During their interviews with neighbors of the small community, authorities spoke to the boy and his legal guardian, who both claimed to have been asleep at the time, according to deputies.
However, a neighbor provided deputies with security camera footage capturing an individual jogging, bearing a resemblance to the teenager, according to investigators.
Deputies re-engaged with the teenager and observed no apparent marks on his hands. However, with the consent of his guardian, they obtained a DNA sample from his mouth. Investigators have submitted the DNA evidence from the scene and the teen’s sample for testing. They are also urging the public to come forward with any information that could help identify the suspect.
Lab results received on June 17 revealed that the teen’s DNA was found on the woman’s underwear from that night, according to investigators. Deputies reported that during their conversation with the teenager, he admitted to being the one responsible for the incident.
A teenager has been charged with sexual battery and burglary with assault or battery, as stated in the affidavit.
