90-year-old Man Flashed at Teenage Girls in Store and said such Acts Make Him Feel Young; Arrested in Indiana
Muncie, IN- An elderly man is alleged to have indecently exposed himself to three young girls while he followed them inside a Target store in Muncie.
Edward C. Uhles from Indianapolis is facing charges in Delaware County Circuit Court. He has been charged with one count of displaying matter harmful to minors, which is a Level 6 felony, and one count of public indecency, also a Level 6 felony.
Authorities reported that Uhles has a lengthy record of indecent exposure incidents in public, as indicated by a comprehensive criminal record that covers multiple counties.
Uhles faces a multitude of charges in several counties, including public indecency, public exposure, and public nudity. These charges extend beyond his initial charges in Delaware County.
According to court records, Uhles has a history of flashing that dates back to at least 2010. According to records from the Indiana Department of Correction, it has been discovered that Uhles has been incarcerated multiple times for convictions related to public indecency.
Uhles faces new charges related to an incident on November 9, 2023, where he allegedly followed three teenage victims inside a Target department store in Muncie.
The teenage girls alleged that Uhles exposed himself to them before leaving the store and driving away. Court documents provide details of the girls filming Uhles on their phones.
Following the incident, a diligent Target employee investigated the accusation and compared it to a similar report filed at a Target store in Carmel. A man named Edward Uhles was arrested in connection with the incident.
Additional court documents from Hamilton County reveal that Uhles engaged in inappropriate behavior with girls at multiple locations, including the Carmel Target.
In an incident that occurred on July 21, 2023, Uhles allegedly exposed himself to two adult women at a Hobby Lobby in Carmel. A woman captured video evidence of the man to aid police investigation.
In a disturbing incident that took place on July 29, 2023, an individual approached a young girl in the bra section of a Target store in Carmel. The person exposed themselves through their unzipped pants, causing great concern and alarm.
Following these incidents, the Westfield police managed to locate Uhles at another Target store, specifically in Westfield. The police apprehended Uhles after they patiently observed him entering the store and caught him in the act.
According to authorities, Uhles was seen lingering near a clothing section where several young girls looked at items. Officers noticed Uhles unzipping his pants on security footage, leading them to take action.
However, when officers apprehended Uhles, they made a surprising discovery.
Uhles’ pants concealed a fake protrusion resembling a sex organ. Police documented that the object in question was a counterfeit phallus made of foam or synthetic flesh.
According to authorities, the elderly man reportedly acknowledged struggling with a certain compulsion and decided to discontinue attending the related programs. According to reports, Uhles admitted he used the fake penis “for the rush” and that it “makes him feel young.”
Uhles informed the authorities that he targeted individuals between the ages of 18 and 22, with a preference for those he considered more attractive. He allegedly singled out Hobby Lobby and Targets on the north side, stating that the girls there were more attractive and wore more revealing clothing like “tighter shorts that are smaller.”
Despite facing legal consequences, Uhles persisted in engaging in inappropriate behavior in Muncie. In addition, there is a more recent charge related to an incident of public exposure in Bartholomew County.
Uhles is currently in custody at the Delaware County Jail.
