9-year-old Dallas Girl died in a Fatal Crash near Texas-Oklahoma Border

Dallas, TX: A crash near the Texas-Oklahoma state line claimed the lives of two individuals, including a 9-year-old girl from Dallas.

On Saturday afternoon, three cars were involved in an accident close to Vernon, around fifty miles northwest of Wichita Falls.

The roads were wet and it was raining, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

On a winding stretch of road, a van’s driver lost control, sending the vehicle careening into a median of grass before crashing head-on into an SUV. The SUV was also struck by a third vehicle.

Than Than Shwe, a van driver from Vernon, died at the age of 43. A girl, who was 14 years old, was transported to the hospital in the van.

The young Dallas girl, who was a passenger in the SUV, passed away at the hospital.

Michael Mullens, 48, and Marissa Mullens, 45, both from Dallas, were hurt in the crash along with two sons, ages 15 and 13. Injuries sustained by all four compelled medical attention.

The accident also injured Hernando Trejos, 44, and Lorena Trejos, 39, both of whom were from Fort Worth. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, their wounds were not physically crippling. A Vernon hospital is providing treatment to them.

The identity of the girl has not been revealed as the victim is a juvenile.
