73-year-old Found Buried during Welfare Check; Family Member Arrested by Authorities in Michigan
A man was apprehended by the police on Friday when they discovered his 73-year-old grandmother buried in a shallow grave outside of a residence in Ypsilanti Township.
A Washtenaw County Sheriff’s deputy was dispatched to conduct a welfare check in the 1300 block of W. Warner Street following concerns raised by the woman’s family about her lack of communication for several days.
The deputy found the woman’s 29-year-old grandson, but unfortunately, he couldn’t locate his grandmother. Authorities made a grim discovery in the backyard as they expanded their search, finding the woman’s body.
The investigation is still in progress. The identities of the victim and the arrested suspect have not been released by the authorities. The detention center and the amount of bond is also under wraps. The authorities are looking for the reason for the gruesome killing.
