72-year-old Found Dead and Wrapped in Tarp; Roommate Arrested for Brutal Killing in Florida
Citrus County, Florida- An Inverness woman, aged 61, was taken into custody on Saturday night following the discovery of her roommate’s deceased body, which was found wrapped in a tarp. The Citrus County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) reported the incident.
Authorities have reported the arrest of Tracy Lee Stanley on charges of second-degree murder. Authorities responded to a report of a deceased individual at a residence on East Rector Street in Inverness.
Upon entering the residence, authorities discovered the lifeless body of Andrea Kathleen Day, a 72-year-old individual, concealed within a tarp.
Stanley has been arrested and booked into the Citrus County Detention Facility. She is currently being held without bond, as confirmed by the Sheriff’s Office.
“My sincerest condolences go out to the family of Andrea Day as they begin the long process of healing,” said Sheriff Prendergast said in a statement. “This was a senseless act of violence. Thank you to our deputies and detectives, who worked swiftly and diligently to take this suspect into custody.”
Officials have confirmed that the investigation is currently in progress.
