7-Eleven Thieves Apprehended After Chase, Stolen Car Crash in Antioch

Miami Standard (Antioch, CA) – Authorities have taken four individuals into custody for grand theft following an alleged robbery at a 7-Eleven in Pleasant Hill. The suspects reportedly fled the scene in a vehicle that had been stolen.

On Thursday afternoon, authorities from the Pleasant Hill Police Department arrived at the scene following a report of a potential robbery at the establishment situated at 601 Patterson Boulevard.

Authorities reported that at approximately 2:30 p.m., two delivery truck drivers were on duty when a group of suspects made off with several cartons of cigarettes from the cargo area of the trucks.

Although there was no use of weapons, authorities reported that the suspects made their escape in a vehicle that had been stolen.

Detectives from Pleasant Hill later found the vehicle travelling on Highway 4 close to Concord.

A police helicopter tracked the vehicle as it made its way into the city of Antioch. Pleasant Hill police alerted their counterparts in Antioch regarding the suspect vehicle spotted in the vicinity and requested assistance in locating it. Details regarding the reasons for the search for the suspects have not been disclosed.

A vehicle belonging to the suspect collided with a fence close to Antioch Middle School at the intersection of F and 13th streets. Authorities reported that the individuals escaped on foot.

A community alert was activated shortly before 4 p.m. due to a significant police presence in the vicinity of the middle school.

Officers established a perimeter with assistance from Antioch Police, Pittsburg Police, the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office, and a helicopter.

Authorities in Pleasant Hill confirmed the capture and arrest of all four adult suspects.

Authorities have confirmed that the inquiry into the offences continues to be ongoing.
