63-year-old Good Samaritan Fatally Punched by Man Beating his Girlfriend in Orlando; Arrested as Man Tried to Intervene in Violent Altercation
A man from Georgia was taken into custody following accusations of assaulting his girlfriend and delivering a fatal blow to a man who attempted to intervene in downtown Orlando, according to deputies.
A 27-year-old individual named Jordan Talley has been taken into custody on charges of manslaughter and domestic battery. According to arrest records, this arrest stems from an incident on March 31, 2024, which tragically led to the death of a 64-year-old man named Donald Storie.
At approximately 1:40 a.m., in the vicinity of Robinson Street and Magnolia Avenue, Talley was captured on video engaging in a violent altercation with a woman outside a law office. According to deputies, the woman was reportedly pulled by her hair and forcefully thrown to the ground by Talley.
According to reports, Storie was walking in the same area with his wife, daughter, and her fiance when he heard the woman screaming for help. According to his family, he moved towards the woman and was unexpectedly punched by Talley upon approaching the couple.
Surveillance footage reveals Talley and his girlfriend entering a vehicle that investigators were able to track back to Talley’s residence in Georgia.
During the interview with detectives, Talley confessed to striking Storie, claiming that he had genuine concerns for his girlfriend’s safety.
Storie passed away on April 23 after being removed from life support.
