HOUSTON, TX – A 6-year-old boy was injured by a stray bullet while eating a Happy Meal inside his home as gunfire erupted outside a north Houston apartment complex early Tuesday morning.
According to the Houston Police Department, officers responded to reports of a shooting around 12:30 a.m. at an apartment complex on Northborough Drive near I-45 North and Rushcreek. Investigators found multiple shell casings of different calibers, indicating a gunfight took place outside.
During the shooting, stray bullets entered at least three apartments, one of which struck the young boy in the head while he was in the living room.
Despite his injuries, the child was conscious and breathing when first responders arrived. He was transported to Texas Children’s Hospital in stable condition.

Lt. J.P. Horelica stated that police currently have no witnesses and are searching for the individuals involved in the shooting.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward as the investigation continues.
