6 Charged in Massive Drug Bust in Colorado Springs

Colorado Springs: Law enforcement officials have made a significant seizure of 4 kilograms of heroin in Colorado Springs and Pueblo, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Authorities searched a residence located in a subdivision near the intersection of U.S. 24 and Constitution Avenue at approximately 7:15 a.m. on Tuesday. Police vehicles and an armored car were spotted by residents arriving at a home on Pinyon Jay Drive. They proceeded to go through the fence and into the backyard.

Multiple law enforcement agencies, including Homeland Security, the DEA, FBI, and Colorado Springs police, conducted operations at various locations in Colorado Springs, according to Homeland Security spokesman Steve Kotecki.

There were no reports of any gunfire at the residence on Pinyon Jay Drive, despite the presence of some suspicious activity witnessed by the residents.

Law enforcement authorities have made several significant drug seizures over the past year. These seizures were the result of nine undercover narcotics transactions conducted between January and October 2023.

The substances seized during these operations included heroin, fentanyl, cocaine, and methamphetamine, according to a recent news release. Six individuals have been charged with federal drug offenses as part of the ongoing investigation.

Five individuals have been charged with federal offenses for their alleged involvement in a conspiracy to distribute and possess methamphetamine, fentanyl, heroin, and cocaine, according to a recently unsealed news release.

Three individuals made their first court appearance on Wednesday. The release identified them as Alex, last name unknown, who is also known as Miguel Angel Gonzalez, Fidel last name unknown, formally called Roberto Gutierrez, and Francisco last name unknown, formerly called Luis Saucedo-Bonilla.

According to the news release, Adan Trevizo is facing charges of possession with intent to distribute a significant amount of a substance containing heroin. Two additional individuals charged by indictment remain at large.
