5 Decades of Jail Sentenced to The Man Found Guilty in 2020 Overdose Death Case
A Columbian man was found guilty of manslaughter and other charges related to a fentanyl overdose in 2020, and the judge sentenced him to over 50 years in jail.
A jury last month found 44-year-old Kennis Shepperd-Dickson guilty of second-degree narcotics trafficking, heroin and fentanyl distribution, second-degree involuntary manslaughter, and possession of methamphetamine.
Shepperd-Dickson was charged in connection with the cardiac arrest death of a 29-year-old on September 4, 2020.
Court filings state that investigators used information from the victim’s phone to locate Shepperd-Dickson. According to the police, he admitted to selling the drugs that caused the victim’s death.
Online court documents show that Shepperd-Dickson was sentenced to 15 years each for drug dealing, 7 years for manslaughter, and 10 years for drug possession by Judge Jeff Harris.
