5 Arrested for Kidnapping 17-year-old Texas Boy; Victim Beaten and Shot Outside City Limits: Authorities
According to the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, five individuals have been apprehended and accused of luring a 17-year-old boy outside the city limits, subsequently subjecting him to physical assault and gunfire.
According to WCSO, a 17-year-old boy was shot on July 3 and transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. He was eventually set free.
Investigators spoke with the victim, who had previously reported being enticed to a residence in the Summerlyn Subdivision, situated on the outskirts of Leander. Upon his arrival at the residence, a group of individuals launched a sudden and brutal assault on the victim.
The victim was later transported to a remote location near Leander, where he was shot and abandoned by the perpetrators.
Authorities have identified the shooter as Matthew Sabedra, a 19-year-old resident of Georgetown. The suspect was apprehended on July 11 and is facing charges of aggravated kidnapping and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He is currently in custody at the Williamson County Jail with a bond set at $1 million.
Four additional individuals were subsequently apprehended.

Three additional individuals have been charged with aggravated kidnapping and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. These individuals include a 19-year-old from Liberty Hill named Tobias Rogers, a 19-year-old from Leander named Logan Humphries, and a 36-year-old from Round Rock named Danyelle Marsh.
Another individual, Nathaniel Walker, a 17-year-old resident of Round Rock, has been charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon as reported by Fox-7 Austin.
“Our division has been actively investigating this crime since the night of the kidnapping. Our detectives have diligently pursued leads, executed search warrants, and conducted numerous interviews since the kidnapping occurred. Their unwavering dedication, reinforced by invaluable support from the US Marshals Office, sets a high standard. We are fortunate that this investigation did not result in a homicide and the victim is expected to physically recover,” said Commander John Foster of the Criminal Investigations Division at the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office.
