4 Arrested and Fentanyl Confiscated By Authorities Near Texas Border in El Paso
El Paso, Texas: Four individuals have been apprehended in the past two weeks for attempting to transport illicit substances across the southern border into Texas by concealing packages within their body cavities.
Customs and Border Protection officers at the Paso Del Norte border crossing intercepted individuals attempting to internally conceal fentanyl and methamphetamine.
All four individuals taken into custody were American citizens and were on their way back to the United States, using the pedestrian lanes.
On January 14th, officers from CBP encountered a 36-year-old woman and directed her for further inspection. A CBP canine inspection and pat-down search resulted in the discovery of bundles filled with narcotics concealed in her vagina.

A significant amount of fentanyl and methamphetamine was seized, weighing 189.8 grams and 65.7 grams respectively. On January 15th, officers from CBP intercepted a 22-year-old woman after a CBP canine team detected the presence of narcotics.
During a secondary inspection, a thorough search revealed the discovery of a bundle filled with fentanyl concealed in her vagina. A significant amount of fentanyl, weighing 119.1 grams, was successfully recovered.
Later that day, CBP officers apprehended a 45-year-old man when a CBP canine team detected narcotics during inspections.
During a secondary inspection, authorities discovered two bundles filled with fentanyl concealed in the man’s rectum after conducting a thorough pat-down search.
A significant amount of fentanyl, weighing 143.6 grams, was successfully recovered. On January 24th, CBP officers encountered a 41-year-old woman who was directed for further inspection.
During a routine search, authorities discovered two bundles filled with multicolored fentanyl concealed in her vagina. A significant amount of fentanyl, weighing 51.2 grams, was seized.
The individuals apprehended by CBP officers have been handed over to Homeland Security Investigations for additional scrutiny.
