$370K Worth Drugs Busted By US Customs, Woman Arrested in El Centro
Los Angeles, California: US Customs and Border Protection informed us on Monday about the drug bust that happened on December 9 at approximately 5 p.m. at the Highway 86 checkpoint.
El Centro Sector Border Patrol agents discovered more than $370,000 worth of cocaine, leading them to detain a 30-year-old American woman, according to officials.
Agents were suspicious of a black automobile that drove into the checkpoint’s main area after they examined it.
Border Patrol agents discovered an aftermarket compartment in the rear driver-side region of the car that contained ten vacuum-seal packets that tested positive for cocaine during a subsequent check of the vehicle conducted by a K-9 unit.
Authorities said that the driver, a 30-year-old woman, was turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) for additional processing and inquiry. The DEA also received the vehicle and drugs valued at $374,400.
Further investigations are underway by the officials.
