3-year-old dies after head injury in New York City; Neighbor arrested as he was the babysitter

New York City, NY: A 3-year-old boy was found dead after his mother had left the boy with a babysitter in their Brooklyn apartment building.

According to authorities and law enforcement, a 3-year-old kid’s mother left him with a neighbor upstairs from their Brooklyn apartment. On Sunday night, the boy was found dead with head injuries.

According to the NYPD and sources, the child was found unconscious and lifeless in an apartment on New York Avenue near Snyder Avenue in East Flatbush at approximately 9:45 p.m. It was not the same apartment where he had been left.

The kid was sent to the Kings County Hospital Center after sustaining head injuries; unfortunately, he was declared deceased upon arrival.

Authorities have learned that the mother had abandoned her little son in the care of a man who resided on the above floor, and the man was 54 years old.

The small child, however, was found severely hurt in an adjacent unit and not in the flat where his mother had left him, according to the sources.

According to the sources, the 29-year-old stepson of the neighbor was arrested and will be questioned. The arrested man was also wanted for a prior petit larceny and was wanted on a warrant.

Although the boy’s head injuries have raised suspicions, the New York Police Department has stated that the city medical examiner’s office will officially identify the boy’s cause of death.
