3 Arrested With Meth & Fentanyl, Shotguns Also Confiscated During Search Warrant in Albuquerque

Albuquerque, New Mexico: Agents from the Drug Enforcement Administration aided the Albuquerque Police Department during a drug bust. The collaborative team tasted some success on Wednesday, January 3rd at around 7:30 a.m.

Court filings state that after an informant purchased drugs multiple times, the search warrant was granted. For the search, law enforcement arrived at 640 Alcazar Street SE. After police officers made their intentions known at the house, they broke through the front door.

At that time there were 3 residents in the house including one woman and two men. One man was identified as 62-year-old Gugumby Bibbings.

Police took Bibbing and the others into arrest. A pat down revealed that Bibbings had something in his pockets. There was a pink container found, and the material tested positive for methamphetamine.

Based on court documents, the weight of the object was determined to be around 15 grams. Inside the house, they found multiple weapons, ammunition, and a stolen APD shoulder patch among other things. There were also two shotguns.

According to court records, two fake oxycodone tablets that tested positive for fentanyl were also discovered by law enforcement.

Bibbings faces charges for possessing methamphetamine with the intention of distributing it, having fentanyl, a controlled narcotic, and being a criminal in possession of a firearm.
