So you’re planning a road trip around New Jersey. Maybe you’re a local who wants to explore your home state or you’ve decided that the Garden State is the perfect spot for your next family road trip. Either way, it’s important you pack all the necessary stuff before setting off.
New Jersey map
Nowadays, we tend to use our phones to direct ourselves. But if you’re on a road trip, it’s essential that you bring a physical map with you too. Phone service can drop at the most inconvenient moments, which is the last thing you want if you’re also lost. Bring a map and familiarize yourself with your route rather than relying solely on your phone or GPS system.

Driving documents
No one wants to be pulled over on a road trip, but it can happen to the best of us. That’s why it’s essential you bring all your driving documents, including your license and proof of insurance. New Jersey requires all drivers to have full coverage before they hit the roads, so whether you’re using your usual insurance or a pay-per-mile car insurance alternative, make sure you have documentary proof of it in your glove compartment.
Comfy clothes, waterproofs, and walking shoes
Any seasoned road-tripper will tell you that comfy clothes are a must. No one wants to be sat in a car all day wearing their tightest jeans. If you’re on a road trip in New Jersey, be sure to bring layers and a waterproof. The temperature inside your car might be very different from the outside temperature and New Jersey summers are often rainy.
Also, many of the best road trips in New Jersey offer a wealth of natural scenery or picturesque coastal towns to wander through. That means even though you’re on a road trip, make sure you bring sturdy walking shoes for when you venture out of the car.
Car emergency kit
Cars break down, accidents happen, and although New Jersey might not have as many remote and isolated spots as states like Montana or Alaska, you should still be fully prepared for an emergency.
Useful kit to store in your emergency car kit includes a flashlight, first aid kit, booster cables, roadside signal flares, blankets, bottles of water, basic tools, and batteries.
Toiletries
You may already have your wash bag packed, but there are some extra toiletries you should consider bringing along on your road trip. Cars get stuffy and no one feels truly fresh after several hours of driving, but with the right toiletries, you can feel fresher for longer. These include baby wipes, dry shampoo, breath mints, moisturizing face mist, painkillers, a quick-dry travel towel, and sunblock.
Games, books, and music
While New Jersey has many beautiful sights to offer road-trippers, there will inevitably be dull moments where your passengers need some entertainment. Music, podcasts, and audiobooks can be enjoyed by everyone in the car, so make sure you have plenty downloaded on your phone to connect to your car speakers.
Non-driving road-trippers may also appreciate travel-friendly games. While you can crack out board games when you come to a stop, car games like the number plate game and twenty questions will help keep younger passengers entertained.

Eurovision, music’s campiest song contest, came to a triumphant conclusion on May 14 (congratulations, Ukraine, on the much-deserved win — that sopilka refrain has been stuck in my head for days). If you’ve ever seen Eurovision, or at least watched that Will Ferrell movie about it, you already know that its wild fashion is just as entertaining as the music itself.
While some finalists pulled out all the stops (i.e. Australia’s Sheldon Riley, and Spain’s Chanel), this year’s sartorial main event wasn’t a contestant but rather, a host.
THIS EVENING MY ADVENTURE AT THE EUROVISION BEGINS!! Thanks to @vogue_italia and Francesca Ragazzi, today we introduce you to a preview of the 3 amazing dresses that I will wear this evening designed for me by Pierpaolo Piccioli, @MaisonValentino. Italian singer Laura Pausini, who emceed alongside Alessandro Cattelan and Mika, paraded out a slew of designer looks throughout the weeklong event. Kitted out in Versace, Valentino, and Alberta Feretti, she repped three of Italy’s finest — Milan’s Giovanna Engelbert, creative director of Swarovski, even accessorized the host.
Pausini’s best look, though, was an aquamarine number from Atelier Versace, complete with latex tights and the label’s infamous platform heels.
Pausini’s Eurovision gig was a veritable high fashion triathlon and for that, she and her stylist deserve an award. Get some rest, queen — if you need us, we’ll be taking a leisurely stroll through the three legs of your Eurovision 2022 style tour.
Every season, the label comes out with a silhouette that somehow always ends up on my wish list. Over the past year, it has been the Paula’s Ibiza sunglasses that come in plenty of different colors (you know the ones), and now the label has released its latest silhouette.
The new shades arrive with a flower-shaped frame crafted from injected nylon and are available in plenty of different hues including pink, green, yellow, and black.
They may be a statement piece, but knowing Loewe’s influence, they’ll become the it-item before we know it – just like accessories from the previous seasons.
In addition to the flower shades, the Paula’s Ibiza collection features more statement shades, including a heart-shaped pair that is perfectly Y2K, the oversized “dive in mask” glasses that I’ve been eyeing (excuse the pun) since they first released, and plenty of new colors on the rectangular fit “Original” Paula’s Ibiza shades.
Basically, there are plenty of eyewear options to choose from, and we can’t get enough.
There’s no doubt that we’ll be seeing the flower shades all over social media this summer, as they not only make for the perfect statement accessory but also make any outfit a lot more fun, which is core to Loewe.
Recently, the label has been playing with unconventional silhouettes and fun items to create everything from the egg heels, to dresses with balloon boobs, making fashion a little less serious and a whole lot more enjoyable and unexpected, capturing Jonathan Anderson’s whimsical vision.
The shades are currently available as part of Loewe’s latest Paula’s Ibiza collection, and are for sale online at Loewe’s website where they retail at approximately $350 USD, as well as at select retailers worldwide. Run, don’t walk for these.
Nike’s ongoing series of collegiate-styled Dunk releases continues with another new colorway on the way.
Official Nike product images of the Dunk High “Court Purple” have emerged, which is a new makeup that’s said to be hitting shelves soon. This pair dons a color scheme that’s reminiscent of the Louisiana State University (LSU) Tigers, with a gold-based leather upper and is coupled with purple overlay panels. Breaking up the bold execution is a white midsole and a solid purple outsole underneath. Similar to past college-themed styles, this pair doesn’t feature any official school logos on the shoe that confirms its connection to the institution.
As of now, release details for this “Court Purple” Dunk High have not yet been announced by Nike but check back soon to Sole Collector for updates.
