In the past few years, shoemakers like RECOUTURE have taken to resoling sneakers, applying to them all the technique formerly reserved only for formal shoes, boots, and the like. Due to the work that goes into making these hybrids a reality, the cost is quite high, so securing a pair is often unjustifiable to the average hobbyist. Converse, though, is soon to lower the barrier to entry, taking the work unto themselves with the new Chuck 70 Canvas LTD Hi.

While the shoe may not be the first to implement ripple soles (think New Balance and the TDS 574), it is one of the most tasteful renditions from a brand yet. This is because most of the design is true to the original Chuck Taylor, only upgraded with metal eyelets and leather laces. Below, an additional strip of leather blends the upper with the tooling, the latter of which is welted down for a more solid, high quality feel.

Available in both an Egret and Black colorway, the Chuck 70 Canvas LTD Hi is currently on the shelves for a retail of €200 Euros, which, though high, is likely much cheaper than any commissioned alternative.

Available in both men’s and women’s sizing.

After surfacing in the “Pale Ivory” iteration this week, we now have a look at another women’s exclusive style of the Nike Dunk coming in 2021.

Shared by Solebyjc on Instagram yesterday is a first look at the Dunk Low in the “White/Black/White” colorway. This pair keeps it simple with a white-based upper that’s paired with black overlays appearing along the toe box, heel counter and Swoosh logos. The contrasting color scheme also works its way onto the tooling with a white midsole and black outsole.

In addition to this shoe, there are more Nike Dunks reportedly releasing in 2021 including a handful of High colorways for women.

As of now, a release date for this women’s exclusive Nike Dunk Low has yet to be announced by the brand, but according to the leak account, this pair is slated to drop in early 2021. Stay tuned to Sole Collector for updates.

UPDATE (02/26/21): Nike has confirmed that the women’s exclusive “Black” Dunk Low is releasing on March 10 via SNKRS for $100. Grab a detailed look below.

UPDATE (01/20/22): After releasing several times since its official drop last March, the black and white colorway of the Dunk Low is restocking again in both men’s and women’s sizing on Feb. 2. Both versions of the shoe will be available at Nike.com for $100 each.

Here’s how to participate.

Fresh off of their recent “Re-Nylon” Forum collection, Prada and Adidas Originals are dropping another collab soon, and this time it’s on an NFT.

The Three Stripes announced today that its latest project with the Italian luxury fashion label is an ambitious digital project that requires participation from 3,000 fans to create an NFT, which will be brought to life by renowned digital artist, Zach Lieberman. Starting on Jan. 24, fans can create a digital wallet at Adidas.com/Prada-NFT and create an NFT for a chance to be featured in this project. A total of 3,000 individual tiles will be used, compiled into one piece, and minted into a single NFT.

The final Prada x Adidas NFT will be auctioned off at digital art marketplace SuperRare from Jan. 28 to Jan. 31, with portions of the sale benefiting the climate-focused organizations Slow Factory and UNESCO Sea Beyond, with a portion of sales split between the creators of the tile artwork. All 3,000 fans who assisted in the creation of the NFT will be able to return to the aforementioned website and mint their photo contribution as an NFT for free.

Every so often, there’s a sneaker so extremely rare it almost never sees the light of day. This Air Jordan 5 “NFL Helmet” PE is just one of those pairs, and only a select few — 19, to be exact — will ever see these in their collection at a time.

This Player Exclusive was only issued out to athletes affiliated with the brand. In colorway and design, the shoe is made to resemble a football helmet, whose gloss is mimicked by way of a white patent leather. What’s more, the protective gear’s warning label is also plastered on the shoe’s heel adjacent to the striped decal and “23” marking. The netting and tongue offer unique finishes as well, opting for a gradient-rich and iridescent treatment, respectively.

For a closer look, check out the imagery below, which was provided by sneaker collector @englishsole. This will likely be one of only a few times you’ll ever see detailed photos.
