Thanks to sneaker leakers, it was revealed this past week that Concepts was working on a collaborative Nike Air Max 1. And it wasn’t just one colorway that was revealed; a second very quickly surfaced following the first, each rife with their own share of patterns and colors. And to make things even more exciting, Deon Point himself recently shared a third and likely final pair.

The simplest of the bunch, this iteration forgoes the use of camo and lessens the bandana print. In their place, a ripstop outfits the mudguard, its surface finished in a light olive similar to that which is found in military surplus. Adjacent, a lightwash denim wraps the toe as well as the profile, while the vamp and lace unit add luxurious pops of faux cow fur and red velvet, respectively. Across the back heel, a subtle hit of paisley does take the stage, though its blends in with the graphic-heavy hits at the collar and Swoosh.

This Air Jordan 1 Mid Is Inspired By The African Continent

The Air Jordan 1 Mid has acted as a canvas for a number of influences, some obviously more eccentric than others. Here, the silhouette ostensibly draws inspiration from the African continent, whose shape is pictured right on the heel.

Surrounding its image is a number of vibrantly colored panels, each distinct in their choice of texture. A crinkling is applied to the darker, deep red collar, while a somewhat smoother finish defines the pink ankle flap adjacent. As for the Swoosh, which contrasts in white, the leather is cracked across the entire surface, possibly nodding to the dry Sahara Desert. The texture of the heel tab and toe cap, too, seem to pay homage to another African sight, the great savanna elephants, unlike the tumbled base underneath.

For a closer look at this interesting take on the AJ1 Mid, see below. Release dates, pricing info, and official images should surface very soon.

In other news, official images of the Air Jordan 12 Playoffs popped up earlier last week.

Bernard Arnault Subtly Flexes a Tiffany Blue Patek Philippe 5740

After an image surfaced on Instagram of Bernard Arnault, owner of LVMH and now owner of Tiffany, playing chess with his son, it looked as though he was lucky enough to secure one of the 170 unique Tiffany-Blue Patek Philippe Nautilus Perpetual 5740 pieces.

On closer inspection, however, it became clear that this was, in fact, an even rarer timepiece. While the watch in question was indeed a Patek Philippe Nautilus quipped with a Tiffany-Blue dial, it was not the 5711. Instead, it’s a unique Tiffany-Blue Patek Philippe Nautilus Perpetual Calendar 5740.

Ordinarily, the 5740 is encased in white gold and equipped with a mid-blue dial. Arnault’s unique take resembled TAG Heuer Carrera, and though it featured the same pairing of Tiffany Blue dial and black and white hour markers and hands as used on the 5711 pieces, this watch boasts perpetual calendar sub dial lettering and a moonphase window.

Such a unique time is sure to come with a significant price tag. For context,  the “Tiffany Blue” Nautilus released on December 11 for $52,635 apiece. However, one of the ultra-rare watches did hit the auction block courtesy of Phillips, granting the public a rare opportunity to try their luck at snagging the timepiece.
The unique opp piqued the attention of three very wealthy bidders, who sent the “Tiffany Blue” Nautilus’ gavel price skyrocketing to over 100 times that of retail, eventually landing on a gavel price of $5,350,000 with an all-in cost of $6.5 million.
