Mobile, AL: Authorities in Alabama said that a mother was charged after a toddler was discovered with a backpack containing cocaine.

Deputies from the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office were informed by sources that a 35-year-old lady had narcotics at her residence.

According to the source, upon arrival at her residence, authorities discovered four children—ages 3, 8, 10, and 15—who were not accompanied by an adult.

According to WKRG, investigators found 2 kg (about 4 lbs) of cocaine in the 3-year-old’s blue bag. Authorities discovered firearms and additional cocaine in an additional backpack.

The finding was made when authorities observed the woman leaving her residence and subsequently stopped her to inspect her vehicle.

Investigators discovered a firearm, marijuana, and around three pounds of cocaine after thoroughly searching the house.

According to documents, the woman was taken into custody in the Mobile County jail on March 30th on charges of cocaine trafficking, tampering with physical evidence, chemical endangerment of a child, and possession of marijuana. The information on her lawyer is not accessible in the jail records.

“The level of irresponsibility in this situation is absolutely ridiculous,” stated Paul Burch, the Mobile County Sheriff, as reported by the news outlet.
