2-year-old girl killed after vehicle struck her in Sacramento, 3-year-old was driving the vehicle
Sacramento, CA: A tragic accident at a gas station close to Sacramento claimed the life of a little girl, aged 2 on Saturday.
According to the Woodland police, a 3-year-old was found behind the wheel of the truck that hit the toddler, who later died as a result.
On Saturday, the driver went into the petrol station without turning off the truck.
“The toddler, who was in a car safety seat in the back of the vehicle, managed to get out of it somehow, and then the vehicle began to move and rolled into the spot where the toddler was hit,” stated Richard Towle of the Woodland Police Department.
There has been no filing of charges as of today. OIt is of much debate on whom the police authorities will file charges.
As the distraught family of the little boy set up a food truck outside the petrol station, many others came out to show their support.
A different food truck entrepreneur is giving the whole proceeds from his business to support the family in their time of need.
“We are working to ensure a thorough investigation is completed. This includes taking statements, analyzing evidence, reviewing video surveillance footage, creating scene diagrams, and completing investigative reports. We ask for the community’s patience while this occurs,” Woodland police said in a Facebook update.
