1st Murder of 2024: NYC Bar Stabbing Leaves 1 Dead & 1 Seriously Injured

Queens, NYC: The authorities confirmed the first murder of 2024. The homicide occurred on early Monday morning.
An early-morning knife fight outside a Queens club left one man dead and his friend barely alive. More than 12 hours after the fight broke out near the intersection of 76th Street and Roosevelt Avenue in Jackson Heights, Tsering Wangdu, 29, passed away on Monday night, according to police.
According to law enforcement sources, he and his 30-year-old friend got into a fight with another New Year’s Eve reveler and were ejected from a nearby bar just before 4 a.m.
Wangdu was stabbed in his thigh while his friend was bruised severely in the face and chest. Both the victims were taken to the Elmhurst Hospital, where Wangdu was pronounced dead later that evening.
The friend’s identity has not been revealed and he is still in critical condition.
NYPD has not made any arrests in the matter and the assailant is on the large. The authorities urge anyone with tips to inform the police immediately.
