19-Year-Old Shot Multiple times at Car Club Meet-up in Houston; Alleged shooter turned himself in
Houston, TX: A woman was shot and killed while attending an auto club meetup event in southeast Houston; the incident is under investigation by the Houston police.
On the southeast side of Houston, in the 5100 block of Reed Road, next to Grimes Park, is where the shooting took place. This occurred at about 6:45 p.m.
The authorities have identified the woman as Makala Lacy. She was 19 years old at the time of her death.
Her mom, Chandra Williams, told KPRC 2 that her daughter had an energetic, carefree soul. She was her only child.
The woman was found in the median with several gunshot wounds, according to Lt. J.P. Horelica of the Houston Police Department. Officers arrived at the scene and took the body into custody. The cops had to make their way through a throng before they could approach the lady.

The woman was declared deceased at the scene despite the efforts of officers and other first responders to administer medical help.
The eyewitnesses told the police who shot Lacy and the car the alleged shooter was driving.
According to Horelica, they were able to speak with the suspected gunman over the phone, and he reportedly provided a statement before promising to surrender to authorities. A few hours following the incident, he voluntarily surrendered to the police, who are currently interviewing him; nevertheless, no charges have been lodged against him.
Horelica claims that the deceased woman was shot three times when a huge gathering was taking place in the adjacent park and the car club gathering.
