A man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison without the possibility of parole after pleading guilty to child molestation.
Mendez Mariojorge Galindo, 44, has admitted to committing heinous crimes against children, including molestation, rape, aggravated child molestation, and aggravated sexual battery.
On June 20, 2022, an investigation was initiated by Cobb County police following a report of child molestation made by the victim’s mother.
A young girl has come forward, alleging that she was subjected to repeated acts of molestation by Galindo over a period of nearly three years.
She initially shared the information with her sister, who subsequently informed their mother, leading to the involvement of the police.
The girl was promptly transported to the hospital and directed to Safepath Children’s Advocacy Center.
She received a physical examination and underwent a forensic interview.
Authorities have identified Galindo as the individual responsible for the assault. He was taken into custody on June 13, 2022.
Galindo pleaded guilty to all charges on May 13, 2024, just before the trial was scheduled to start.
The judge handed down a sentence of 20 years in prison without the possibility of parole, followed by a lifetime of probation.
We admire the courage of the victim and her family for speaking out and pursuing justice. The commitment to protecting the most vulnerable members of our community remains unwavering, according to Cobb County District Attorney Flynn D. Broady Jr.
