16-year-old Struck by 9 Bullets as three masked Teenagers opened fire at high-school students in Philadelphia
Philadelphia, PA: Three male teens have been arrested in the Philadelphia bus stop shooting that injured eight high school students, officials revealed.
Jamaal Tucker, Ahnile Buggs, and Jermahd Carter, aged 18 and 19, were involved in firing around 30 rounds of bullets at Northeast High School students waiting to board a SEPTA vehicle last week, as reported by city police and US Marshals.
Police are still searching for the fourth individual, who is known to them but has not been recognized yet.
It is uncertain if the apprehended individuals were the three masked gunmen shown on CCTV exiting a vehicle, approaching a group of youths aged between 15 and 17, shooting, and then escaping.
The footage depicted students covered in blood, crying and holding their wounds while others rushed to assist.
All teenagers are in stable condition, including a 16-year-old guy who was taken to the hospital in severe condition after being hit nine times.
Carter had been staying in a family member’s home until US Marshals raided the building around 3:30 p.m. on Friday, according to a spokeswoman. He was sought for attempted murder, gun crimes, and other associated allegations.
Buggs was arrested on Sunday in an operation that included 25 federal investigators. They retrieved a fully loaded and fully automatic firearm. The agency stated in a report that a 40-caliber Glock was found at the scene, matching the casings retrieved.
Tucker was the sole individual who voluntarily surrendered to the Philadelphia police on Friday. He was arrested soon after the police linked him to a stolen vehicle that was found and believed to be connected to the shooting.
Tucker and Buggs are charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, and other offenses. They are in custody with bail set at over $2 million.
Further information regarding the case, such as the motive behind the gunmen targeting the high students, has not been disclosed.
