15-Year-Old Shot Dead by Deputies after he attacked them with Sharp Tool in San Bernardino County

San Bernardino, CA: According to officials, a 15-year-old kid in San Bernardino County was shot and killed by deputies earlier this weekend after he allegedly charged law enforcement with a long garden tool, raised its bladed end, and other threats.

A news release from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said that the event took place on March 9th, just before 5 o’clock in the afternoon, when they responded to a 911 call regarding a domestic disturbance in the 13400 block of Iroquois Road in Apple Valley.

According to authorities, someone called in about a youngster named Ryan Gainer, who lives in Apple Valley, allegedly attacking family members and trashing property at the residence.

The juvenile, who was allegedly armed with 5-foot-long gardening equipment featuring a “sharp-bladed end,” allegedly confronted the first responding cop.

The youth was shot by deputies at that point, according to authorities.

Gainer was attended to by deputies until the arrival of paramedics. The injured teen, who was only fifteen years old at the time, was taken to the hospital but did not survive.
