15-year-old Riddled by Bullets by Adult Boyfriend in Massachusetts Family Left Devastated when Saw Victim’s Body in Pool of Blood
A tragic incident unfolded in Lowell, Mass as a 21-year-old individual was taken into custody and faced charges for the devastating act of shooting and ending the life of his 15-year-old girlfriend. This heartbreaking incident occurred just moments before she was set to attend her 8th-grade graduation.
A press release shared on the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office website confirmed that Ahliana Dickey’s grandmother contacted Lowell Police on June 14, around 6:10 p.m. local time. She reported that her granddaughter had been found, possibly deceased, inside her Lawrence Street home.
Trevor Bady, a 21-year-old resident of Tewksbury, has been arrested and is facing charges for the fatal shooting of Dickey. According to a statement on the District Attorney’s website, it was reported that the couple had been involved in an abusive relationship.
After Dickey did not show up for her graduation, her family grew worried and tried to find her before eventually going to her house, according to the statement.
A teenage victim was discovered by authorities in a first-floor bedroom, having sustained apparent gunshot wounds. The District Attorney’s Office has confirmed the discovery of multiple shell casings at the scene.
In the early hours of June 14, 2024, the Lowell Police were contacted by a concerned citizen residing on Lawrence Street. The caller reported witnessing a disturbance involving a man and a woman engaged in a heated altercation across the street.
A concerned individual phoned in to report the sound of a woman’s distressing cries, expressing her desire to separate from her companion. According to the release, the caller also mentioned hearing gunshots.
“Police were called to the scene, but unfortunately, they were unable to locate the parties involved.” A video was found in the vicinity of the incident that reportedly captured a woman, who was later identified as the victim, shouting for assistance just before midnight. Shortly after midnight, a man, who was allegedly identified as the defendant, was seen leaving the victim’s residence, according to the statement.
During a press conference on June 17, Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan provided confirmation that the shooting occurred approximately six weeks after Dickey’s 15th birthday.
Bady is facing multiple charges, including murder, home invasion, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, use of a firearm while committing a felony, and discharge of a firearm within 500 feet of a building, according to Ryan.
Bady appeared in court on Tuesday, June 18, and was held without bail, according to NBC10 Boston.
PEOPLE reached out to the Lowell District Court and the Lowell Police Department, but they have not yet provided a response.
According to a statement from the District Attorney’s office, authorities were informed on June 15 that the accused individual had reportedly used an Uber to travel to and from the victim’s residence both before and after the tragic incident. The driver later mentioned having a passenger who raised suspicions and expressed their concern. It is claimed that the individual in question was identified as the defendant.
