14-year-old found Chopped Up in River in Pennsylvania; Alleged Suspect Arrested after He Arranged to Meet Teen: Authorities
An individual has been charged with the alleged murder and dismemberment of a 14-year-old who was reported missing in Mercer County.
According to a recent news release by Pennsylvania State Police Troop D, DaShawn Watkins is now facing a range of charges, including criminal homicide, in relation to the tragic death of 14-year-old Paul Likens Jr.
According to a recent report, the Sharon Police Department received information about a 14-year-old who has gone missing on June 25th. In a disturbing incident, authorities were summoned to Shenango Lake in Clark Borough, Mercer County, where they made a chilling discovery – dismembered human remains submerged in the water.
According to state police, they have assumed control of the investigation and discovered additional dismembered remains in the vicinity of the lake. According to a recent report, it has been confirmed that the remains belong to the teenager. According to the coroner, the individual’s death was determined to be a result of severe head injuries, indicating a deliberate act of violence.
“According to a statement released by authorities, a forensic pathologist’s evaluation suggests that the victim was dismembered using a cutting instrument,” the news release stated.
According to State Police, their investigation revealed that the teenager was present in the vicinity of Budd Street Public Park and the nearby canoe launch on June 23, from 3 a.m. to 3:40 a.m. According to authorities, the teenager seemed to be patiently anticipating the arrival of another individual.
According to authorities, a vehicle was captured on video surveillance in the vicinity during that time. The vehicle was traced to Riverwalk Apartments and subsequently to Watkins. According to a recent report, Watkins was observed leaving his apartment multiple times, carrying various bags and garbage bags. Officials have reported the discovery of blood in Watkins’ apartment.
Watkins, a resident of Sharon, is currently incarcerated in the Mercer County Jail. According to sources, law enforcement is unsure about the connection between the two individuals. However, Watkins informed the police that he utilized a social media app to arrange a meeting with someone who fits the description of the teenager as reported by CBS News.
