14-year-old escaped kidnapping attempt after she sensed danger in Glendale, Arizona
Glendale, AZ: An alert Arizona teen escaped a kidnapping attempt after she sensed danger and immediately called the police. The 14-year-old girl was walking home when the incident happened.
A CCTV caught the incident which happened at a major junction in Glendale, Arizona.
According to the police, the teen felt threatened when she saw a light-colored vehicle come up next to her.
In the 9100 block of Cardinals Way, the video captured the passenger getting out of the car and trailing the girl for some time.
The police had identified the suspect, and is a 28-year-old man named Timothy Tan Guan. As a result of the footage, the culprit was eventually apprehended.
In the midst of her pursuit, the teen contacted her mother. A mother told her daughter to immediately contact the authorities after instructing her to do so, according to a news conference.

A man who happened to be walking his dog in the area came over to assist the teenager.
Guan was taken into custody the following day following the event. Attempts at kidnapping, violent assault, and unlawful incarceration were among the charges against him. The girl and the kidnapper are completely strangers.
The police have reported that Guan has a lengthy criminal record, including three cases of severe assault on a juvenile.
The female driver of the vehicle has not yet faced charges, but according to Mendez, they are still considering all possible options.
