12-year-old Girl Shot Dead by 15-year-old Boy; Shooter Charged with Homicide after Tragic Demise of Victim leaving Mom Grieving for Life in Alabama
An inquiry into the homicide of a young child has led to the arrest of a teenager from Montgomery who is currently being held by the police. The teenager is now charged with capital murder.
On May 31st, Indyah Knight, who was 12 years old, was shot once. On June 7, she was pronounced dead at a hospital in Birmingham, according to the Montgomery police department.
According to the police, a boy who was 15 years old was later recognized as a suspect. Tuesday was the day that the youngster, who has not been identified, was taken into custody and charged with three counts of capital murder.
The Montgomery County Youth Detention Facility was the location where he was kept in custody. The authorities remain tight-lipped about the details of the incident.
“I never imagined having to live without her,” told Indyah’s mother, Bria Knight to WSFA News.
Following the victim’s passing on Friday, a balloon release was staged in her honor. The victim’s relatives later revealed that she was Indyah Knight.
The Chisholm Boys and Girls Club, which Bria Knight referred to as her daughter’s “second home,” was the location where the balloon release took place took place. She stated that she desired to place her loved ones, including her friends and family, in a location where they could remember her.
