11 People Shot in front of their House in Chicago in a potential Gang Related Shooting, Young Girl Died at the scene

Chicago, IL: A young girl has been killed following a shooting incident that injured 10 other people in Chicago.

According to the Chicago police, a small girl was among eleven individuals shot on Saturday night outside a family gathering on the South Side of the city. The violence is believed to have been gang-related.

The authorities announced on Sunday that four of the victims were youngsters. A girl of eight years old was shot and killed; a boy of one year old and another boy of eight years old were both wounded several times and are in critical condition. Another victim was a 9-year-old boy who was sent to the hospital after suffering a minor cut to his finger.

Following a news conference late Saturday, the agency released a revised statement on Sunday that changed the age range of the victims and increased the number of victims from eight to eleven.

The shooting occurred at approximately 9 p.m., according to Department Deputy Chief Don Jerome, who informed reporters on Saturday that shots were fired at family members outside a family gathering.

Jerome reported that adults ranging in age from 19 to 40 were among the wounded and are receiving treatment at the hospital as per KXNET.

An injured man, aged 36, who sustained gunshot wounds to both his arms and back, is currently in critical condition. According to the authorities, the other adults were reported to be stable on Sunday.

According to witnesses, a black automobile came up to the crowd on Sunday, and someone inside shot into the air before escaping; the police indicated that their investigation was still in its early stages.

Two potential gunmen were indicated as being on foot, according to witness statements, which Jerome shared with reporters on Saturday.

The authorities have started an investigation to catch the shooters and to find the motive that prompted the shooting. No arrest has been made in the matter so far by the police.
