An incident occurred during a pool day when an inebriated woman reportedly assaulted a 10-year-old boy and bit a police officer who was apprehending her, according to authorities.

A woman from Philadelphia, Fallan Turner, allegedly assaulted a child at a motel in Wildwood Crest, New Jersey on June 17th, as reported by the Wildwood Crest Police Department.

Officers were called to a motel, identified as the Waikiki Oceanfront Inn by Philadelphia outlet 6 ABC, following reports of an altercation involving a child at the pool. Turner, 43, was reportedly involved in the incident according to witnesses.

According to authorities, witnesses at the scene reported that she was behaving in a highly intoxicated and out of control manner. According to a different witness, Turner was reportedly consuming tequila throughout the day.

According to the police, Turner reportedly engaged in a disturbing incident where she grabbed a 10-year-old boy and swung him around in the pool, submerging him underwater, while under the influence. Furthermore, when the 10-year-old’s father attempted to step in, Turner reportedly assaulted him by jumping on his back and engaging in inappropriate behavior.

According to the police, Turner was uncooperative when officers tried to talk to her and was eventually arrested, despite her resistance.

The police reported that she allegedly pushed the arresting officer in the face while resisting his control. They also stated that she remained highly uncooperative and combative during processing, going as far as biting an officer’s hand.

Fortunately, no officers were injured during the altercation, according to the police.

“When she was informed that the public did not want her participation, she became upset,” stated Wildwood Crest Police Chief Robert Lloyd in an interview with 6 ABC. He further noted that “she displayed highly disruptive behavior and engaged in inappropriate actions.”

According to Lloyd, Wildwood Crest has typically been known as a family-friendly destination. However, the department has observed an increase in cases similar to Turner’s since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“It’s regrettable,” he said. “Having contacts with the police not only spoils your own vacation, but also disrupts the enjoyment of others who are simply seeking to have a good time.”

Turner has been charged with multiple offenses, including endangering the welfare of children, aggravated assault on law enforcement, resisting arrest, criminal sexual contact, harassment, disorderly conduct, and failure to allow fingerprinting.

Turner is currently in custody at the Cape May County Correctional Facility. It remains uncertain whether she has legal representation available to provide comments on her behalf.
